Registration Deadlines
Registrations must be postmarked by February 6th, 2006 for the early bird rate
or by February 20th for the regular admission rate. All registrations received
February 21st or later will be processed at the on-site rate.

room rate of $101/night. The reduced rate will be in effect as long as rooms are
available.You may also reserve your room through the hotel's In-Home Conference

Volunteers Needed
As an all-volunteer organization, we are always looking for more volunteers. In order to
put on a great program and keep everyone safe, we need your help! If you, or anyone in
your family, is willing to volunteer, please indicate so on your registration form by either
marking a “V” in lieu of a workshop number or by checking the volunteer box. Our volunteer
director will contact you to confirm your assignment. Teen volunteers are welcome and service
hours are available. We offer reimbursement toward admission to thank our volunteers for their time
and work, please see our Volunteer Info page for details.

We will be holding volunteer orientations during the conference to help familiarize volunteers
with their jobs. If you are volunteering during the conference, please check in at the volunteer
table for orientation times and location.

Tapes and CDs Available
Tapes and CDs of this year’s workshops will be available for purchase in the exhibitor hall.
Opening Event
Join us in the Paramount Ballroom for a traditional African Welcome Dance performed by
members of Chicago’s Muntu Dance Theater. Seating is limited to the first 300 people.
Closing Event
Following the Talent Show on Saturday, please stop by the Paramount Ballroom to say goodbye to friends
new and old. Join us from 5:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. to wind down and bask in the post-conference glow.
Extra Fun Stuff
Family Dance
Join us Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for 2 hours of family fun! Our DJ will be
playing all the old favorites, from the Hokey Pokey to the Electric Slide and everything in between.
Teen Dance
Following the Family Dance, from 9:30 p.m. until 11:30 p.m., we’ve set aside 2 more
hours of music for teens to make the dance floor their own and jam to more current beats.
Knitting
Calling all knitters, young and old! Join us during lunch for a good old-fashioned knit and
gab session. Make new friends, talk about homeschooling, and see what others are making. 
All fiber arts, and people who just like to hang around fiber arts are welcome!
Teen Poetry Slam
Teen-poets, there will be a coffeehouse and poetry slam, including a featured performer and
house music, on Friday evening, before the teen dance.  Begin writing your original poetry now
to perform at the coffeehouse.  Our emcee will keep things rolling, and judges will award
prizes for first and second place.  This will be a chaperoned event for teens only.
Science Fair
Our 5th Science Fair will be held Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. All ages are welcome
to participate. For rules or more information, please leave a message at 630/585-4635
and our science fair coordinator will return your call. Entry deadline is February 17th.
Children’s Craft and Flea Market
For Kids Only: Come trade and/or sell your stuff! Saturday during lunch we will again
hold a children’s craft and flea market. Please bring a towel on which to spread out
your stuff and signs to advertise your booth.
Parent Chat
A great place for parents to relax and make new friends! The room will also
include quiet activities for younger children to enjoy with mom or dad.

General Directions
From East
Take Lake Avenue West (which becomes Euclid) directly to the hotel. The hotel is on the North/East corner of Euclid and Rowhling.
From North
Take Interstate 94/Interstate 294 South to Willow Road, which becomes Palatine Road. Take Palatine Road to Route 53 South. Exit Euclid East. The hotel is located one block further on the left.
From West
From Interstate 80 or Interstate 88, take Interstate 355 North (which becomes Route 53). Exit Euclid East and you are there. -OR- Take Interstate 90 East to Route 53 North. Exit Euclid East. The hotel will be on your left after the stop light.
From South
From Interstate 55 OR Interstate 57 (or Southeast including O'Hare Airport), take Interstate 90 towards Rockford. Exit 53 North. Take 53 North for two miles. Exit Euclid East and you are there.
